Oak Ridge City Jail Oak Ridge The Oak Ridge Police Department is working with a national center to find a child who was last seen in Oak Ridge in 2016 and to identify a newborn baby found floating along the shoreline of Melton Hill Lake almost three years ago. KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) - A lengthy investigation into illicit drug sales in Oak Ridge has lead to the arrest of 10 people. The investigation was conducted by agents with the 7th District Judicial Crime Task Force that serves Anderson County. Of the 26 people indicted, 19 were charged with prescription narcotics offenses, three were charged with cocaine offenses, three were marijuana-related, and one was on methamphetamine charges. Clark said he will once again be offering training to parents on managing the online risk to children that can occur through computers, smart phones and online gaming systems. This comes a day after Arlington police arrested Chief Thomas Peoples on a charge of soliciting a prostitute who is under the age of 18. Peoples bonded out of the Tarrant County Jail under a $25,000 dollar bond. The report says it's an ongoing investigation. The mayor of Oak Ridge confirmed that the city fired the chief because of that arrest. He said overall crimes decreased by an even larger percentage, roughly 35 percent, from 2007 to 2012.
